Your doctor has given you a prescription for a blood test?

Do I need a prescription for a blood test?

Yes, except for the following tests: urine pregnancy tests and toxicological profile paid by the patient.

Why do I need a prescription if I pay for these services?

Article 136 of the Public Health Protection Act stipulates that any work carried out in a private medical technology laboratory must be performed upon receipt of a written prescription signed by a professional whom is duly authorized by a professional order.

Will my insurance plan cover these fees?

Fees related to medical analyses are reimbursed by most group medical insurance plans. You must review the options of your group insurance contract, as each insurance plan is different.

How much does the analysis cost?

The fees applicable to each test are different. We must know which analysis are requested by your treating physician in order to tell you what is the total cost.

How long will it take before I get my results?

The results are forwarded directly to your treating physician within 24 to 48 hours, depending on the requested type of analysis. Some test results may take more than 48 hours. This information is provided to you when you book an appointment.

Can I request my test results over the phone?

No, only treating physicians can analyze medical test results. We are only allowed to deliver the following test results over the phone: Prothrombine Time, APTT, blood type , pregnancy test , monotest, strepto, urine culture and throat culture.
